Changing Modes: Music

Embers Sweet (HERE - 2010)

(Changing Modes)

Jen Rondeau

She stood upon her heart-bound hearth,
A very predictable pattern unfolding.
She wondered who would light the spark,
Undaunted, enchanted and so familiar.

And then she moved.
And then she moved.

Grand enchanted live-wire embers, sweet
Hosts of craven fruits, like heavens beats.
Backwards and forwards and backwards she climbs and
Ohh! (etc)

He stood behind his barbed-wire fence.
Approaching, his arms bearing coal-singed night logs.
The breeze asks, gently, “send them hence.”
He, grateful, relinquishes.  They unfold him.

And then he moved.
And then he moved.
